El alojamiento toma nombre del antiguo Pósito del Pan, almacén público de grano construido hacia 1579 en estilo renacentista, con portada de sillería coronada por el escudo de Felipe II. El edificio fue después iglesia, cárcel y hospital, y hoy es un centro cultural con piezas etnográficas. Las visitas al edificio se realizan previa consulta telefónica.
