Asturianos

The village is the main intermediate break on the stage. It's the right place to check your water and decide whether to take a longer rest before tackling the final kilometres.

The town retains the character of a strategic fortress belonging to the Condes de Benavente. On arrival, you'll find a wide choice of food, shopping and accommodation for resting after the day’s walk.

Practical tips for this stage

Make the most of the shade, but keep moving

The woodland offers good protection from the sun, but the climbs and descents add up. Set off early and save your legs for the ascent between km 12 and km 17.8.

Plan your supplies

Services are concentrated in Mombuey, Asturianos, Palacios de Sanabria and Puebla. There are long stretches without shops between these places, so carry water and a snack.

Take care on the final section

The last descents come after you have already walked more than thirty kilometres. Take it slowly between km 29.5 and km 32.1, especially if the ground is wet.
