The Finisterre and Muxía Way is the epilogue of the Camino de Santiago. From Santiago de Compostela, pilgrims continue 116 km in 4 stages to Cape Finisterre, the mythical "End of the World" where ancients believed the earth ended.
Medieval tradition held that pilgrims should complete their journey watching the sunset over the Atlantic from the Finisterre lighthouse and burning their walking clothes. Today this tradition lives on, and the Km 0 marker symbolically marks the absolute end of the Camino.
The route continues along the spectacular Costa da Morte (Coast of Death) to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Barca in Muxía, a temple by the sea surrounded by enormous granite rocks with ancient legends.
