How long does it take?

Most pilgrims complete the Camino Francés in 30-35 days, walking an average of 22-25 km per day. Faster walkers can do it in 25 days, while those preferring a relaxed pace may take up to 40 days.

Best time to walk

The best months are May to June and September to October. July and August are very hot and crowded. Winter is possible but many albergues close.

Estimated budget

A basic budget is around €25-35 per day: €6-10 per night in a public albergue, €10-15 for meals, and some for extras. In total, between €800 and €1,200 for the complete walk.
